US Average Gasoline Prices down 1.8% on Week: EIA

US retail gasoline prices dropped 1.8% to $3.598/gal in the week ending Sep. 29, according to the EIA.

  • Prices in the Midwest region saw the sharpest week-on-week decline, falling by 2.7% to $3.513/gal.
  • In contrast, West Coast prices saw the greatest rise, up 1.2% to average $4.815/gal.
  • Diesel prices saw a small rise on the week, increasing by 0.2% to $4.593/gal.
  • East Coast diesel prices climbed the most, up 0.4% to $4.542/gal, while Rocky Mountain showed the steeped fall, down 0.5% to $4.4778/gal.
