US Crude Stockpiles Likely Increased: WSJ

US crude oil inventories are expected to have increased on the week when the EIA releases its weekly summary Oct. 18, according to the Wall Street Journal.

  • Based on the average estimates of ten analysts and traders, stockpiles rose by 0.4m bbl in the week to Oct. 13. Six predicted an increase, with the other four expecting a decrease.
  • The range of predictions was wide and ranged from a fall of 4m bbl to a 5m bbl increase.
  • Gasoline stockpiles will fall by 0.6m bbl, based on the survey results, while distillates are expected to fall by 1.2m bbl.
