US Data Forecast Focus: September PPI Seen +0.2%, Core +0.2%

Repeats Story Initially Transmitted at 11:35 GMT Oct 10/07:35 EST Oct 10
WASHINGTON (MNI) - Final demand PPI is expected to rise by 0.2% in
September after a 0.1% August decline. Energy prices are expected to slide
modestly following a 0.4% August increase, while food prices are expected to
rise slightly after a 0.6% decline. Excluding food and energy prices, PPI is
forecast to also rise 0.2% after a 0.1% July drop.
Analysts sharply overestimated final demand PPI in August, owning to
declines in food and trade services and a softer than expected reading for core
PPI. The misses in the last ten September reports have been tilted toward
underestimate for overall PPI and have been mixed for core PPI
