US Jobless Claims Drop 40K in Oct. 24 Week

U.S. weekly jobless claims fell by 40,000 to 751,000 in the week ended Oct. 24, still elevated from pre-pandemic levels but not yet showing a substantial spike since a second wave of Covid spread across the nation. Continuing claims for the week ending Oct. 17 was 7,756,000, down 709,000 from the previous week.
