US Nat Gas Gains Strength

NATURAL GAS

US nat gas prices are driving higher today. Prices are being pushed more by production levels and LNG exports, both of which are more bullish. Spring maintenance is holding up production while the return of Freeport LNG is helping to bolster LNG export capacity.

  • Current temperatures in the US are doing little to bolster demand as the US moves away from the heating season.
  • The current uptick pulls nat gas away from the 2$/mmbtu range that it floated around late last week but pressures remain due to surplus gas levels in the US at present.
  • US Natgas MAY 23 up 7.7% at 2.17$/mmbtu
