AUSTRALIA
AUSTRALIA: USD/AUD last sits at $0.7195, 13 pips higher on the day, amidst
positive signals re: Sino-U.S. trade relations & broader USD weakness ahead of
today's FOMC MonPol decision.
- Initial upside focus falls on the cloud top/50-DMA at $0.7197/98 and a clean
break above (the rate briefly broke above today & peaked at $0.7201) would open
up the 100-DMA at $0.7220. On the downside, the 55-DMA at $0.7187 provides the
initial target and a break below that level would allow bears to attempt a move
towards the Dec 18 low of $0.7165.
- Labour mkt data due Thursday provides the key Australian economic release
during the remainder of this week.
