DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last deals at C$1.3307, 12 pips higher on the day, as
broader risk aversion added weight to CAD, offsetting the impact of a modest
uptick in WTI prices.
- A familiar technical picture remains in play, with bulls focused on C$1.3340,
which capped gains yesterday. A break above would open up the 55-DMA/50-DMA at
C$1.3348/52. Conversely, bears eye the 100-HMA at C$1.3267, while the next layer
of support below is located at C$1.3246, which represents the 21-DMA.
- Canadian docket is empty today, but focus next week turns to a speech by BoC
Gov Poloz due Thursday & domestic retail sales due Friday.
