DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY last deals at Y113.44, a touch higher on the day, as both
sides of the pair struggled against their G10 peers overnight. Regional equities
& U.S. equity index futures moved higher, while optimistic comments re: trade
with China from U.S. President Trump aided broader risk appetite. 
- Bulls need a clean break through yesterday's highs of Y113.47 before
challenging Y113.66, where the rate peaked on Dec 4. On the downside, initial
focus falls on the 50-DMA at Y113.01. Bears look for a break below here before
they can target the lower Bollinger band (2%) at Y112.42. 
- Japanese highlights this week include the quarterly BoJ Tankan survey & BoJ
Rinban ops, both due Friday.
