DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY last trades at Y113.46, 8 pips higher on the day, with the
yen underperforming all of its G10 peers, albeit by narrow margins, as the
Nikkei 225 & U.S. equity index futures ticked higher overnight.
- Worth noting the BoJ kept its bond purchase amounts unchanged in today's
Rinban ops.
- Bulls look to the Dec 13/14 highs of Y113.67/71 before attempting a move
through the Dec 3 high of Y113.85, towards the Oct 4 descending trend at
Y113.90. On the downside, initial focus falls on the Dec 13/12 lows of
Y113.21/14 and a break below would open up the 50-DMA/Dec 11 low at Y113.02/01.
- BoJ is set to release its MonPol decision Thursday, while its Rinban ops will
also attract attention. Elsewhere, Japanese trade balance is due Wednesday,
while the inflation report comes out on Friday.
