USDCAD Testing 1.36 After Waller Nudge

  • USDCAD is testing the 1.36 handle after Fed’s Waller’s remarks were worth 5-10 pips as Fed pricing jumped and S&P E-mini remained close to session highs. ]
  • The pair has registered a high of 1.3603 (+0.7%) and a more concerted push higher could open 1.3640 (May 3 high) after the earlier clearance of 1.3568 (May 15 high).
  • Tomorrow sees a growing $734m of option expiry at 1.3600 for the NY cut which could offer some traction at current levels, but first will be US 2nd Q1 GDP and initial claims.
