USDPEN Surges 1.2%, Approaches All Time Highs

  • The Peruvian Sol has extended the most recent depreciation with USDPEN hovering just below all time highs of 3.7739, currently trading 3.7565 (+1.2%)
  • The move comes following a Datum poll released last night showing 41% voter support for leftish candidate Castillo, compared with 26% for the more market-friendly candidate Keiko Fujimori.
    • This gives confirmation to a previous Ipsos poll released over the weekend where Castillo had 42% backing vs 31% for Fujimori.
