Valero Memphis Has Begun Restart After Power Outage

Valero Energy began restarting the 180,000 bpd Memphis, Tennessee, refinery on Thursday according to Reuters reports.

  • The site was hit by site wide power outage on Tuesday.
  • Once utilities are stable and operating, the company plans to restart the two crude distillation units (CDUs), which have a combined capacity of 190,000 bpd.
  • After the CDU’s are restarted – the company plans to bring back the 65,000 bpd FCU.
