VIEW: Moodys – Expects Unemployment Rate To Hit 4.5% By 2024

AUSTRALIA

Moody’s is projecting that the unemployment rate will rise to 3.9% by the end of 2023, higher than the RBA’s 3.7% forecast (updated forecasts are published on February 10), and 4.5% by 2024, as RBA tightening and higher inflation impact the economy. Moody’s notes that “vacancies have been trending lower since the middle of 2022”. (The Australian)
