VIEW: RBA Watchers Weigh In Post-Labour Market Data

RBA

A quick summary of view from the RBA watcher community in the wake of Thursday’s Labour market report:

  • WSJ’s Glynn: The Reserve Bank of Australia will raise its official cash rate by an eye-watering 75 basis points in August if second-quarter inflation figures due out at the end of this month proves even more hellish than expected. The odds are growing that they will.
  • Terry McCrann: The lowest jobless numbers in nearly 50 years together with higher inflation figures lock in a 50 basis point rate hike from the RBA next month.
