Vote On Boluarte Impeachment Motion

  • Peru’s congress is expected to vote whether to admit an impeachment motion against President Dina Boluarte today. Congress are expected to hold a session at 10am local time, the legislature announced on Twitter.
  • On Monday, President Boluarte highlighted the fact that the country is moving forward despite the difficulties and does not cede to pressures from those who aim to drag it down.
  • "Our country is leaving standstill and inefficiency behind and is building its future," she added.
  • Boluarte made these remarks while participating in the ceremony marking the commencement of operations of the new air traffic control tower and the second runway at Jorge Chavez International Airport.
  • "The strength of a country is also measured by its ability to carry out large infrastructure works, like the one we see today, works that will boost growth and progress, that will boost the economy, and that will provide great opportunities for Peruvians," she asserted. (Andina)
