Week Ahead (2/2)

UK
  • This week's data will be headlined on Thursday with monthly activity data for September due to be released alongside the first print of Q3 GDP. For the quarterly print, the case majority of economists look for a 1.4-1.5%Q/Q print with two-way risks while for the monthly print, most economists look for a 0.3-0.5%M/M print.
  • This week we will also hear from a number of MPC members, but none specifically on monetary policy (with the possible exception of Bailey at 17:00GMT today in a Citizens' Forum Q&A). We will also hear from Broadbent tomorrow on labour shortages in agriculture; Bailey again tomorrow on a panel on diversity / inclusion; Tenreyro on Wednesday in a fireside chat on secular stagnation; Mann on Thursday at the FN100 Most Influential Women event and Haskel on Friday on measuring intangible assets.
