• US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen wrote to Congressional leaders yesterday warning that the government could default on its USD$31.4 trillion debt as soon as June 1^st unless Congress moves legislate a debt ceiling hike.
• Shortly after that call, President Biden called Congressional leaders to schedule a meeting on the debt limit for May 9.
• President Biden said yesterday: “… America is not a deadbeat nation. We have never, ever failed to meet the debt… We pay our bills, and we should do so without reckless hostage-taking from some of the MAGA Republicans in Congress.”
