Wires: EU In Talks For More Doses Of Moderna Vaccine, Cost May Be Higher

Wires and social media reporting that the EU is in talks with Moderna for more doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, approved by the European Medicines Agency on Friday. The reports say, though, that the cost per dose could be twice as high in any new agreement than in the deal signed at end-2020.

  • Reports also state that the EU could make a deal for 200mn doses of Novavax's candidate vaccine.
  • There remains significant political and public pressure on the EU with regards to what some national politicians have called a slow rollout of the vaccine across the bloc.
