Wires-Loud Explosions Heard Near Russian Base On Crimea

Wires reporting that loud explosions have been heard at Russia's Saki Air Base in Novofedorivka, in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian region of Crimea. Saki is a homebase for the 43rd Independent Naval Assault Aviation Regiment of Russia's Black Sea Fleet.

  • Base is around 220km from the front of fighting with Ukrainian forces in southern Ukraine. This is believed to be beyond the range of any equipment possessed by Ukrainian armed forces at present.
