LNG

Australia’s Woodside Energy Group Ltd. is in talks to buy LNG from several US export terminals according to Bloomberg sources.

  • The interest includes Energy Transfer’s Lake Charles project in Louisiana. The project is one of the proposed projects at risk from the Biden administration’s pause on the issuance of new non-FTA export permits.
  • Woodside Energy has been interested in a potential equity stake at Lake Charles as part of an effort to expand its LNG supply portfolio.
  • Energy Transfer already has agreements for LNG from Lake Charles with buyers including Shell Plc, China’s ENN Energy Holdings and South Korea’s SK Gas Ltd.
