57% Of Voters Says There Is A "Crisis" At The Border

US

A new survey from Morning Consult has found that 57% of voters now say that the US is facing “a crisis of illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border,” the highest recorded by the firm since beginning regularly surveying the question during the administration of former President Donald Trump.

  • Morning Consult: “The share of voters who perceive a crisis includes 76% of Republican voters, up from 74% nearly three years ago, and 53% of independents, up from 50% over that same time period. It also includes 41% of Democrats, which is up from 31% during the opening months of Biden’s presidency, though a slightly larger share say the situation at the border is just a problem, or is not a problem at all.”
  • Comes as legislation to overhaul US-Mexico border policy and unlock USD$118 billion in supplemental funding for Ukraine and other US allies appears on the brink of collapse after a major offensive from Republicans aligned with former President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement.
