High water levels on the Rhine River will likely cause further disruption to shipments, according to Mitchell van der Hoeven, a broker at Riverlake, as reported by Bloomberg.

  • The water depth at Maxau is likely to fluctuate around levels of Marke II, which will continue the ongoing ban and thus draw out delays, he said.
  • A sailing ban comes into force when water levels reach Marke II, which is at 750cm at Maxau.
  • Measured water levels at Maxau are currently at 766cm as of Nov. 17.
