ANC Set to Adopt Step-Aside Rule

  • EWN write today that the ANC are to formally adopt the step-aside rule as part of their constitution, with the amendments to be published today. The ruling bars those facing criminal charges from running for leadership positions, a move that Ramaphosa’s opposition see as being open to abuse with unfair targeting of political opposition.

  • Focus remains on the findings of the independent commission to the National Assembly on whether sufficient evidence exists to proceed with the Section 89 impeachment process against Ramaphosa. The deadline here is Nov 16th, where we also get September retail sales.
