AUSSIE
AUSSIE: AUD/USD last $0.7119, a touch higher on the day, amidst broader dollar
weakness.
- The pair finished unchanged Thursday as both sides struggled, with broader
risk appetite tempered.
- Worth noting DXY has ticked up in the Asia-Pac session, but USD still modestly
underperforms.
- Another strain appeared in Sino-U.S. relations and may become a factor to
watch, as hawkish rhetoric emerged from both China and the U.S. re: accusing
Beijing of economic cyber-espionage, with two Chinese citizens charged by NYC
prosecutors.
- Bulls need to jump back onto the $0.7149 figure representing yesterday's high,
which would open up the cloud base at $0.7168. Conversely, bears look to
yesterday's low/Sep 11 low at $0.7086/85 before challenging the Oct 31 low of
$0.7068.
- Australian docket is very dry towards the end of 2018.
