AUSSIE: AUD/USD trades flat at $0.6840, ahead of comments from RBA Governor Lowe
coming up at 0645GMT/1745AEDT. Lowe will deliver a lecture titled "Some Echoes
of Melville" at Australian National University, there will be Q&A.
- The pair added 15 pips Monday amid solid risk sentiment, boosted by U.S.
President Trump's remarks that the U.S. and China are "ahead of schedule" with
the first phase of their trade negotiations and may strike an initial pact at
next month's summit in Chile.
- A clean break above the 100-DMA, which kicks in at $0.6850, would return focus
to the Oct 22 high of $0.6883. Meanwhile, a bearish overbought stochastics
crossover should keep investors on alert. A break under the Oct 25 trough at
$0.6809 would bring the $0.6800 mark into view. Below opens $0.6790, the 50-DMA.
- Wednesday's CPI data headlines the Australian docket this week. Building
approvals come out on Thursday, while AiG & CBA m'fing PMIs are due on Friday.
