Austria’s ImWind Eyes 68MW of Wind

POWER

Austrian firm ImWind has moved closer to commissioning a 68MW onshore wind farm in eastern Austria in 1Q26, after having entered into a supply agreement with Vestas, according to the turbine supplier.

  • Vestas will begin turbine deliveries in 2025 and will be an extension of an existing project with eight 3.45MW turbines in the same area.
  • The power plant will have 10 6.2MW turbines and one 6MW turbine, according to Vestas.
  • Austria has set a target of generating 100% of its electricity by renewables by 2030, which would mean around 400-500 MW/yr of wind added, according to IEA Wind & WindEurope.
