Bank Indonesia Keeps BI Rate Unchanged At 6.25%

Bank Indonesia left its benchmark policy rate unchanged at 6.25% as expected by virtually all analysts in the lead-up to the decision.

  • The central bank left the 2024 GDP growth target unchanged at +4.7%-5.5% Y/Y. It also maintained CPI inflation forecast for this year at +1.5%-3.5% Y/Y.
  • Bank Indonesia said that the rupiah is strengthening in line with policy responses and fundamentals.
