Biden Approval Maintains Strength Ahead Of Post Scandal Surveys

US

US President Joe Biden's approval rating remains strong (44%) ahead of the release of the next batch of survey data collected after the story of Biden's improperly stored government documents broke.

  • A number of news outlets have drawn comparisons between Biden's document controversy and former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's personal emails story which helped deliver former President Donald Trump to the Oval Office.
  • Punchbowl News wrote this morning, “the timing of this controversy couldn’t be worse for Biden and Democrats in many ways. Besides allowing [House Speaker Kevin] McCarthy [R-CA] to glide over the deep divides in his own conference — at least for the moment — Republicans have hit the Justice Department on how it handled the search of Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago versus the Biden probe.”
  • Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) said comments President Biden made last year about Trump’s handling of classified documents were “embarrassing” in light of the discovery at Biden’s own residence.
