Biden-I Will Work With Democrats Or GOP To Bring Inflation Down

White House has released a statement from President Joe Biden following today's inflation print.

  • "It will take time to get inflation back to normal levels – and we could see setbacks along the way – but we will keep at it and help families with the cost of living."
  • "I will work with anyone – Democrat or Republican – on ideas to provide more breathing room to middle-class and working families. And I will oppose any effort to undo my agenda or to make inflation worse."
Coming in the aftermath of the midterm elections, the statement takes more cooperative tone towards Republicans. Pre-election statements on inflation, rates etc. utilised highly partisan language. However, now that the control of Congress is in the balance it raises the prospect of Democrats working with moderate Republicans on bipartisan legislation in certain areas.
