Biden's Approval Sinks Following 'SCOTUS Bounce'

US

The approval rating of US President Joe Biden has retraced back to the low 40s after a period where it appeared the leaked Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade may simulate a strengthening of support.

  • According the daily presidential approval tracker on Real Clear Politics, Biden's approval currently sits at 41.6% down from 42.6% last week.
  • Democrat strategists had been hoping that the leaked Supreme Court ruling would energise the Democrat support base. Although this may still be a prominent issue for voters in November, it hasn't yet translated into a sustained bump in approval for Biden, or on the genetic congressional ballot.
  • For voters, 'inflation' and 'handling of the economy' remain the issues dragging on Biden's approval.
