  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told President Biden yesterday that Israel intends to begin ground operations in Gaza in the coming days: "We have to go in. We can't negotiate now.”
  • Axios reports: “During the call, Biden, 'didn't try to press Netanyahu or convince him not to go through with a ground operation.'"
  • With Congress paralysed by the absence of a speaker of the House of Representatives, there are questions over how the White House can receive authorisation for a package of security assistance for Israel.
