BP Whiting Refinery Outage Hits Contractual Fuel Supplies

BP is buying refined products on the market to meet contractual obligations for wholesale fuel customers due to the continued outage of its 435,000 bpd Whiting, Indiana refinery according to Argus reports.

  • The refinery has been offline since a Feb 1 power outage. A time line on a return is unclear at present. A BP spokesperson said Feb 8 "BP is making progress on the work to restore the refinery to normal operations,"
  • Whiting is the largest refinery in the region.
