  • China opposes the UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine. Russia has stated that there is no intention for war. What the world needs is quiet diplomacy, not ‘microphone diplomacy’. US has not supported this and hasn’t created a favourable environment for a diplomatic solution. US and Russia should resolve tensions with mutual respect.
  • China position on Ukraine consistent: Diplomatic solution should be sought within the parameters of Minsk Agreement.
  • NATO is a cold war organisation which causes increased tensions in Europe. All Cold War security frameworks should be abandoned in favour of a new mutual security arrangement for Europe.
