BOND SUMMARY: Equities are marginally higher but core fixed income has largely
retraced its marginal movements lower earlier this morning to trade pretty much
flat on the day.
- There is not too much on the calendar today with US claims the highlight. With
the focus on the spike in claims in some states there is only one forecaster in
the Bloomberg survey expected a rise in continuing claims. But economists are
split on whether the initial claims number will be higher or lower than last
week. Tomorrow's data calendar is more eventful with the release of the flash
PMIs.
- TY1 futures are unch today at 139-18 with 10y UST yields down -0.9bp at 0.590%
and 2y yields down -0.3bp at 0.148%.
- Bund futures are down -0.10 today at 176.83 with 10y Bund yields up 0.1bp at
-0.491% and Schatz yields up 0.1bp at -0.694%.
- Gilt futures are down -0.01 today at 138.26 with 10y yields down -0.2bp at
0.117% and 2y yields down -0.7bp at -0.120%.
