EMISSIONS: EU May Present Simplified CBAM Rules in Late February

The EU is planning to soon release details on how to simplify compliance requirements for companies under by the CBAM, European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovski said, cited by MLex. 

  • The proposal could be included in the presentation for the “Omnibus package” that is currently scheduled for 26 February. A delay to the date cannot be excluded according to White and Case.
  • The Omnibus package is expected to simplify rules for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and the EU Taxonomy.
