Feyzin FCC Works to Cause Flaring on Thursday

REFINING

Works at the 29kbpd FCC at TotalEnergies’ Feyzin refinery in France will cause flaring on Thursday, according to a report by Le Progres citing a statement from the company.

  • "An operation is necessary on a unit in the heating sector," the Total refinery in Feyzin told us in a press release. “A maintenance intervention is therefore scheduled for Thursday 15 February”, it said.
  • The technicians will work on the "catalytic cracker", the firm said.
  • The flares, used to manage the excess gas, will therefore be more stressed than in normal operation "which can generate, in episodes, smoke and noise", warns the refinery, which promises to "limit the inconvenience caused as much as possible".
  • TotalEnergies previously reported planned maintenance on the alkylation unit until the end of February.
