Eight candidates have received enough support to take part in the Conservative party leadership contest.
- They are as follows: Nadhim Zahawi, Tom Tugendhat, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak, Penny Mordaunt, Jeremy Hunt, Suella Braverman, and Kemi Badenoch.
- Early frontrunner Sajid Javid dropped out late in the race due to lack of support.
- Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt are the current frontrunners with a poll from Conservative Home suggesting that Mordaunt has the edge over Sunak in a head to head.
- Liz Truss will likely firm as a favourite as she gathers support of Boris Johnson loyalists and attempts to court the pro-Brexit faction of the Conservative membership base.
