Morning Consult has released a report with polling from key Senate races presented comparatively with the approval rating of President Joe Biden, currently underwater in 45 states.
- One of the key questions ahead of the midterms is to what extent President Biden’s low approval rating will present a drag on Democrat lawmakers in competitive races.
- Morning Consult: “Solid majorities of voters disapprove of Biden’s job performance in Arizona (58%), Nevada (56%), New Hampshire (60%), North Carolina (58%), Ohio (60%), Pennsylvania (58%) and Wisconsin (57%).”
- There is however some evidence that Senate candidates are avoiding a drag from Biden’s approval. This is particularly notable in Arizona, where incumbent Democrat Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) is polling 27 points higher than Biden.
