FSB Director-Ukraine Using Grain Corridor To Attack Coast: TASS

RUSSIA

Russian state-run TASS reporting that Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB), has made claims that Ukraine is using the grain corridor established by the Black Sea Grain Initiative. Following an agreement reached in May, the initiative was extended by two months to mid-July.

  • On 31 May, Reuters reportedthat the UN is seeking to save the imperiled deal by facilitating Russian fertiliser exports by fixing a pipeline to the Ukrainian port of Pivdennyi, while at the same time seeking to expand the number of Ukrainian ports included in the deal as well as the nature of cargoes for export.
  • Speaking at a meeting of the heads of security services of CIS nations in Minsk, Belarus, Bortnikov also claimed that the West is actively pushing Moldova to participate in the war in Ukraine.
