UK

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson have released a joint statement following a call between the two over the ongoing Ukraine crisis.

  • Statement says that they both agreed on the importance of maintaining dialogue with Russia and that 'all diplomatic avenues' must be used to try to resolve the current situation.
  • Both agreed to the importance of allies sending 'a clear and consistent message' to Russia. Both will continue working with allies to put together a 'comprehensive package of sanctions' in the event of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
