House Dissolution Could Take Place On Monday

The government is expected to dissolve the House of Representatives next week, as the countdown to the May 7 general election has started, with the Electoral Commission unveiling the boundaries of the 400 constituencies yesterday.

  • The Bangkok Post reports that Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam refused to confirm that the House dissolution will happen on Monday, but noted that "it should not take place later than that day."
  • Wissanu noted that the Cabinet will still hold its weekly meeting next Tuesday, regardless of whether the House will be dissolved by then.
