  • The committee is expected to publicly discuss the publication of its final report and deliberate on potential criminal referrals to the Department of Justice.
  • The panel is weighing up criminal referrals for former President Donald Trump and associates of Trump, including former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, and Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
  • Any criminal referrals made will not have any immediate consequence but will make a statement that the panel believes that criminality took place on January 6.
  • The Republican Party will take control of the House of Representative in January where they will disband investigations into former President Trump and are expected to launch probes into members of the Biden administration, including White House infectious diseases expert Antony Fauci, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and the business activities of President Biden's son, Hunter Biden.
