JKM Futures Volumes Hits Year to Date High in Oct

LNG futures traded on exchanges in October hit a year to date high for 2023 at 75,104 lots, according to Platts, citing exchange and broker data.

  • This exceeds the previous high this year of 66,884 lots in May.
  • LNG Open interest rose to a one year high in October, totalling 87,602 lots across ICE and CME
  • Platts said that the rise in derivatives for October was down to optimisation and trading by portfolio players.
