GOLD: Joni Teves, strategist at UBS, outlined what might drive gold above
$1,300.
- "Dovish monetary policy, especially from the Fed, and/or significant
escalation of geopolitical risks are potential triggers - we expect the former
to have a more durable price impact," she said.
- There was also event risk from this week's Jackson Hole symposium, with Fed
Chair Janet Yellen and European Central Bank President Mario Draghi speaking
Friday, she said.
- "While there is little expectation for significant news, any hints on policy
normalization paths and views on inflation are likely to gather much attention
from markets," Teves said.
