  • Kremlin on US proposal to levy tariffs on Russian oil: 'Buyers will have to pay more or seek alternative supplies'.
  • Comments come at a moment that CEO of German energy giant Uniper stated the firm has recieved an invoice for Russian gas in euros, and will pay in euros to an account at Gazprombank.
  • Previously, Russia had stated that it would demand payments for gas in roubles. By paying Gazprombank in euros, the bank can then convert to roubles on Moscow exchange before paying Gazprom itself in roubles.
