Kuleba: Talks Only After 'Defeat On The Battlefield' Of Russia

UKRAINE

Earlier today, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba speaking to Forbes, stated that Kyiv will be ready to negotiate with Moscow only after the 'defeat on the battlefield' of the Russian Federation. Says that given Russia's aggressive behavior, there are currently no grounds for negotiations between the countries.

  • Kuleba: "Ukraine will break diplomatic relations with Belarus if its armed forces cross the state border of Ukraine...Belarus is an accomplice in the crime of aggression, no one questions this issue",
  • Kuleba: "Ukraine will not agree to any solution that leaves even the slightest gap for the possibility of a frontal attack of Russia from the sea."
  • In response, Russian FM spox Maria Zakharova stated that "...it is evident from Ukrainian foreign minister Kuleba's earlier statement that Kyiv is the one who does not want peace."
While talks on agreeing to some form of grain corridor from Ukraine to the outside world continue, the prospect of peace talks remain an unlikely prospect in the short-to-medium term.
