Speaking alongside his Iranian counterpart in Tehran, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov states that Moscow 'fully supports the revival of Iran's 2015 nuclear deal with major powers'.
- Lavrov: “Relations between Iran and Russia have reached the maximum point for all years. Trade turnover between Russia and Iran exceeded $4 billion last year. Russia and Iran condemn the practice of unacceptable unilateral sanctions.”
- Iranian FM Hossein Amirabdollahian says that "all US sanctions should be removed for revival of Tehran's 2015 nuclear pact" and blames the US for stalled talks.
- US has previously talked of narrowing window for a deal to be reached with Iran on its nuclear programme. Potential further difficulty in the future being the collapse of the Israeli gov't. Should Benjamin Netanyahu and his right-wing coalition return to power it would result in a much more belligerent Israel seeking to pressure US to abandon talks w/Tehran.
