Limited Net International Security Flows Observed Last Week

JAPAN

The latest round of weekly international security flow data out of Japan generally revealed moderations in net flows across the major categories, with the only change in direction across the four major metrics seeing international investors flip to small net selling of Japanese bonds from small net purchases in the previous week (which is the only week in the last 8 that has seen net purchases).

  • The only one of the four major categories that saw an uptick in net flow size came in the form of increased net purchases of Japanese equities on the part of international investors.
