Macron Still Strong Favourite In Betting Markets, But Le Pen Up To 20%

Political betting markets continue to show incumbent President Emmaneul Macron as the strong favourite to win re-election, but right-winger Marine Le Pen has nevertheless reached her highest implied probability of victory of the entire campaign.

  • Data from Smarkets gives Le Pen an implied probability of victory of 20% according to betting markets, up from 4.4% on 23 March.
  • Macron remains the strong favourite, with an implied probability of winning of 76.9%. Nevertheless, this is down from a peak of 92.6% two weeks ago today on 25 March.
