MEPs Vote 539-45 In Favour Of Croatia Joining Eurozone

CROATIA

Members of the European Parliament have voted by a wide margin to approve Croatia's accession to the eurozone. Five-hundred-and-thirty-nine MEPs voted for Croatia's accession, 45 voted against with 48 abstentions.

  • The Adriatic state is set to join the euro area on 1 January 2023, becoming its 20th member and 15th-largest economy.
  • A presser held by rapporteur Siegfried Mureșan (EPP, Romania) and Chair of the EP’s euro working group, Margarida Marques (S&D, Portugal) on the subject will be held at 1630CET (1030ET, 1530BST). Livestream: https://multimedia.europarl.europa.eu/webstreaming...
